We began workplace vaccinations for COVID-19 from July 2021. At the Head Office at the Otemachi Building, Hokkaido Refinery, Chiba Complex, and Aichi Refinery (currently Aichi Complex), we vaccinated around 9,000 people, including Idemitsu employees, affiliate employees, dispatch employees, and partner company employees who opted for it. To foster a workplace environment in which employees can comfortably work, we collaborated with each department of the Head Office and each work site. We promoted vaccinations in collaboration with healthcare professionals and many in-house volunteers.
On August 1, 2021, the "Healthy Menu" provided at our Hokkaido Refinery cafeteria received 2-star certification for "Healthy Meal and Food Environment (Smart Meal) *" promoted by the Japan government. Up to this point, there are 289 offices nationwide of which the cafeteria menus have been certified as Smart Meal, and Idemitsu is the first oil company to acquire it. We believe that employees’ health is the foundation of business management. Based on this stance, we have been promoting health through programs that can easily be implemented by all employees and proven effective to gradually improve their health. “Hokkaido Refinery Smart Life Campaign” is one of those programs which consists of 3 main pillars; healthy meal, exercise habit, and quit-smoking. The "Healthy Menu" that we provide as part of health promotion activities is a nutritionally balanced meal that keeps calories to less than 630kcal. We came up with ideas such as serving appetizing vegetables dishes to make the food more filling and this idea was highly evaluated in the certification process.
